Defining the state of the art of animation as it has advanced over the past two decades, The Transformers, which began as a Japanese-produced kids television series in the early 1980s (primarily intended to promote a line of toys), then went on to feature films with The Transformers: The Movie in 1986 and a series of additional TV shows in more recent years, will next become a feature film in which real humans will be transformed into machines via computer-imaging animation, the Hollywood Reporter reported today (Wednesday). In a statement, Angry Films chief Don Murphy said, "Transformers enjoys an amazing fan base worldwide, and we believe that we can create an incredibly fast-paced, exciting movie that will be appealing to anyone who loves action films."
